I found this old interview about Graham that’s worth reading. I particularly liked this bit:
P+1: ‘Heartland’ is now a long-running TV series, if you could write a spin-off season for the show, what would happen?
GW: There’s this little horse called ‘Sugarfoot’ who is Mrs. Bell’s horse, and he’s Mini-horse. He pulls this cart with Mrs. Bell on it. I want to see this miniature horse involved in a chuck wagon race with other mini-horses!
P+1: The show might go viral, I don’t know if the ‘Heartland’ headquarters might like that.
GW: No, it would be awesome don’t you see! People would say, “that is the weirdest thing” but it would be so awesome because he’s such a trooper. This little horse just goes “UGH! I want to pull this cart.” They will say, “Oh my goodness, you got a heart of gold little horse!”
P+1: He would become a major character on the show, they would have to bring them into the house, give him a name…and a dark past.
GW: It would be like Babe, but with a mini-horse.
